Given our hybrid/online format, our programs were not greatly impacted by the virus, as students can continue coursework in the comfort of their own home, with all "book work" needing to be completed prior to attending skills sessions. In fact, our program improved as we re-designed the "in-class" skills portion of our course, requiring students to attend only 2 to 3 days in person. Prior to those in-person days, students will spend the equivelent of what would normally be a 3 full skills days reviewing video sessions and practicing skills at home. Certain equipment will be provided to students who are local (a splint and some bandages). Students who are not local can improvise with other material. All components of what had been our traditional boot camp skills week has been converted to short video segments for students, so there is no loss of course content moving to the alternate method, and in most cases, students are coming to class better prepared, as they are able to pause, rewind, and rewatch the video sessions if needbe to master the skill. The first day of the in-peson skills sessions involves practicing the skills and the last day is testing. To keep students safe, everyone will be screened upon entering the building and will be required to wear gloves and a mask whenever in the building. Students exhibiting any signs of illness, or who have been exposed to someone with the virus, will need to reschedule for a later skills session.
We remain committed to providing our community with the highest quality of emergency medical professionals. If you have any questions regarding ETA's plan going forward during these unprecidented times, feel free to email us at info@emergencytraining.pro or call us at 484-639-5206. Stay safe!

Emergency Training Academy, Inc., a leader in EMT Training and CPR & First Aid Training in Chester County, Pennsylvania, and Nationwide, has a new EMS Training Center in Thorndale, PA. ETA offers online, hybrid, and in-class EMS Courses including Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) training, CPR and First Aid Training, EMT Refresher courses, EMT Instructor Training, MCI/ICS training, Babysitter Classes, online continuing education, and many more.
ETA was the first state certified EMS Training Institute to offer hybrid EMT courses in Pennsylvania. We have perfected our course to where students can complete an EMT course with only 2-3 in-class skills sessions. All other coursework is completed online - at your own pace. Take as much or as little time as you need.
ETA also offers American Heart Association CPR and First Aid training programs. If you have a group of 6 or more, we can schedule a private class, either at our location or yours.
Here's what former students are saying about our classes.
"The instructors were outstanding. Some of us came knowing a bit, some came THINKING we knew a bit, and some came without much of a foundation at all. All of us left infinitely better providers. The unsure were given the tools for success, and they were great at challenging those of us who were confident without being demeaning.
I was really wary about taking a hybrid course, and I'll admit I questioned even at the end of the didactic work whether or not I'd have a foundation that was strong enough to build on. That uncertainty was gone after day 2." - Matt C. [EMT student] |

"This course was the best choice I've ever made. I feel smarter and more competent as a health care provider. If you are unsure about the quality of this course, don't be it's perfect!" - Lily Y. [EMT student] |
|
"The instructors were great, they made a very fun and very interactive learning environment. I know many other students and I benefitted immensely from their teachings. Thank you so much for everything. You guys/girls Rock!" Sarah D. [EMT student] |
"Tyler, Gabriel, Oksanna, and Hannah are excellent instructors. All are knowledgable, communicative, and approachable. Cathy is friendly, extremely responsive, and very helpful at administering the course. I feel the level of education provided by ETA truly prepared me for NREMT exams. The instructors have great chemistry, and provide their own experiences and expertice on a variety of focused subjects." - Ryan G. [EMT student] |
"The instructors were very very knowledgeable, committed, and encouraging." - William H. [EMT student] |
"This course was great. It taught me everything I need to know as an EMT & everything needed to be known for NREMT exams and then some. I would suggest anyone wanting to be an EMT take this course. The environment was friendly, welcoming, and helpful to my success." Tyler R. [EMT student] |
