Emergency Training Associates has been providing CPR training to individuals, EMS companies, physicians, dental offices, businesses, and industries since 1990. With over twenty years experience, ETA is one of the most established providers of CPR training in the region. Based in West Chester, PA, we serve clients in Chester County, Delaware County, and throughout the tri-state area.

On October 18, 2010, based on scientific research there was a change in CPR standards. The professionals at ETA are knowledgeable of these new standards and have integrated them into all training programs.

Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers

Course Description: The Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers Course is designed to provide a wide variety of healthcare professionals the ability to recognize several life-threatening emergencies, provide CPR, use an AED, and relieve choking in a safe, timely and effective manner.

Course Content:  This course includes the following topics:

• Adult, child rescue breathing
• Adult, child CPR/AED – 1 Rescuer
• Adult, child CPR/AED – 2 Rescuers
• Adult, child relief of choking
• Adult, child bag-mask use
• Infant rescue breathing
• Infant CPR
• Infant relief of choking
• Infant bag-mask use

Audience: This course is designed for medical professionals in the pre-hospital, in-hospital, and medical office setting. The course is appropriate for EMS professionals, physicians, nurses, medical assistants, dentists, dental office staff, physician's assistants and any other medical personnel required to possess CPR certification for their profession.

Certification Options: American Heart Association course completion cards are valid for a period of two years.

Cost: $75.00 per person.

Family & Friends CPR

The Family & Friends CPR Course teaches the lifesaving skills of adult Hands-Only® CPR, child CPR with breaths, adult and child AED use, infant CPR and relief of choking in an adult, child or infant. Skills are taught in a dynamic group environment by using the AHA’s research-proven practice-while-watching technique, which provides students with the most hands-on CPR practice time possible.

Audience: Family & Friends CPR is for people who want to learn CPR but do not need a course completion card in CPR for their job. This course is ideal for schools and students, new parents, grandparents, babysitters and others interested in learning how to save a life.Family & Friends CPR is for people who want to learn CPR but do not need a course completion card in CPR for their job. This course is ideal for schools and students, new parents, grandparents, babysitters and others interested in learning how to save a life.

Course Content: The Family & Friends CPR program teaches:

• Adult Hands-Only™ CPR
• Adult AED use
• Child CPR
• Infant CPR
• Adult, child and infant relief of choking

Class Time: 1.5 - 2 hours (depending on optional modules included)

Certification: There is no certification associated with this course.

American Heart Association Heartsaver® CPR Course

Course Description: Heartsaver CPR is a classroom course that teaches basic CPR skills such as:

• Performing a head tilt-chin lift
• Giving compressions and breaths
• Calling your emergency response number (or 911)

Course Content: This course includes the following topics:

• Adult/Child CPR
• Adult/Child Choking
• Automatic External Defibrillation (AED)
• Infant CPR and choking

Audience: This course is designed for individuals designated as first responders to emergencies in the workplace or otherwise needing the certificate for regulatory requirements. It is appropriate for industrial first responder/safety teams, sports coaches, teachers, bus drivers, camp counselors, or anyone that interested in learning the life-saving techniques of CPR.

Class Time: 2 - 3 hours

Certification: American Heart Association Heartsaver CPR Course Completion Card which is valid is for two years.

American Heart Association Heartsaver® CPR & First Aid

Course Description: Heartsaver CPR & First Aid is a classroom course that is designed to meet OSHA regulations to provide basic first aid in the first 5 minutes prior to the arrival of EMS. Combined with teaching Heartsaver CPR (adult, child and infant), this course teaches basic first aid skills such as:

• Stopping bleeding that can be seen

• Helping someone with a possible broken bone or sprain

• Making sure the scene is safe

• First Aid Basics

• Medical Emergencies

• Traumatic Injuries

 Environmental emergencies


Target Audience: The course provides basic information and employee training for:

•     Designated first responders, childcare providers, bus drivers and teachers

•     Individuals needing credentialed training for job or regulatory requirements

•     Select departments or an entire workplace


Certification: The American Heart Association Heartsaver or Pediatric First Aid Course Completion Cards are valid for two years.

Course Length: 5 hours (CPR 2 FA 3)

Course Cost: CPR & First Aid $100 (HS CPR Only $60 / HS First Aid Only $75)
