Instructor Training Programs: With one of only 17 PA state certified EMS Instructor Trainers on staff, ETA is able to offer instructor training programs for individuals wishing to be certified as an EMS or Fire Instructor. The educational methodology program is a 40 hour program designed to give prospective instructors the tools they need to be successful, dynamic educators. Catherine Parvensky Barwell is author of Teaching EMS, one of the first textbooks published specifically for teaching instructors the art of teaching emergency responders. Currently working on a revision of that text, Catherine is uniquely qualified to teach anyone interested in teaching fire or EMS training programs how to be dynamic, motivating, and effective in the world of EMS and Fire education. This course is 40 hours in length and is offered periodically throughout the year. If your organization has 6 or more students ready to learn, click or call and we can set up a program specific for you, at our location or yours. New: ETA is proud to announce that the EMT Instructor course is now offered ONLINE. The only in-class requirement is for student presentations at the conclusion of the course.
MCI/ICS Classes and Emergency Drills: ETA has over twenty-five years experience in providing mass casualty exercises. Trained in the art of simulation and incident command systems, we can help your organization with regulatory training requirements for emergency preparedness. Programs can include table top exercises, MCI/ICS classes, and small and large scale disaster drills. Click here for more information!
Emergency Vehicle Operator Course (EVOC): ETA offers the 16 hour VFIS EVOC course to train individuals interested in becoming emergency vehicle drivers (ambulance and fire apparatus). Civil, criminal, and punitive damages and charges may become a part of your vocabulary if one of your vehicles is involved in a crash that injures or kills one of responders, a patient, or a civilian vehicle operator/pedestrian. This program prepares future drivers how to ensure personal safety as well as the safety of their crew, patient, and community they are serving. Click or call and we can set up a program specific for you, at our location or yours.
American Heart Association Heartsaver® Bloodborne Pathogens Course: Heartsaver Bloodborne Pathogens Course is a classroom course that teaches employees how to protect themselves and others from being exposed to blood or blood-containing materials. Moulage Classes: The staff at ETA are "masters of disasters", using the art of makeup to create realistic injuries so that training programs are as realistic as possible. Research has shown that the more realistic training programs are to real life situations, the better prepared students are to handle emergency situations. The staff at ETA can teach you how to use moulage to add realism to your training program. Online training in moulage techniques will be available soon!
Specialized Training Programs: If you have a training need not listed on this site, contact us via email or phone and we will custom design a program to meet your specific needs. If a program is not readily available, our staff of instructional designers can one. Programs can include traditional classroom setting, online or distance learning programs, or hybrid programs which include both online and hands-on learning.
Continuing Education Programs: ETA offers a wide variety of continuing education programs. We offer online continuing education as well as the traditional classroom experience. We also offer hands-on practical continuing education programs. We can offer these sessions at your location or ours, so give us a click or call today so we can get started!
Trauma Rounds: Are you prepared for Trauma? We all know that medical emergencies are the primary reason people call for an ambulance or First Responder assistance, and that can leave our trauma skills a little rusty. That is why ETA offers Trauma Rounds, a way for Emergency Responders of all certification levels to keep their trauma skills sharp. Rounds can be table top discussions, hands-on scenario practice, or a combination of both. PA Continuing education credit can be obtained for these programs. If you are part of an industrial first response team and have a risk for specific types of injuries, we can create scenarios to help you prepare for calls you will most likely encounter. Give us a click or call so that we can help you be prepared at all times.
